Change over the last 15 years
Mission Dolores Park was intended to host the diverse children of the San Francisco Mission District. Before the tech boom you would see hoards of children at this park going to play soccer, basket ball, or foot ball. This park meant the world to them. It allowed them to get away from criminal activity that used to plague the mission district. It was a place where children were able to be themselves and simply have a good time with their friends.

As more tech workers started to move to the Mission District, the less the city started supporting initiatives for youth culture. The park was changed.
The park used to be one of San Francisco's many places where kids would come to enjoy themselves. Now it has changed into becoming the playground of grown men who bully out teens for the rights to play on the fields. |
Kids would come here to play club soccer in order to stay away from the life of crime. However, now they city has implemented fees in order to use the field, which was sponsored by the young adults who are fresh out of college. Although some kids still play there, it isn't as open as it used to be. Kids are left out and it’s hard for them to coexist with the new breed of San Franciscans.
